• One of the last nice looking rural intersections in Winslow is slated to become asphalt and concrete producing an intersection about the size of 305 and High School Road for a roundabout that purports to solve a problem that does not exist.
  
  
• Come voice your opinions at the Public Hearing scheduled at City Hall on Wednesday October 24 at 7 pm.
  
  
• If you do not speak up now, the City will condemn not only the front yard of the Wyatt House, but portions of all corners of Wyatt and Madison, making it into an urban wasteland. It will look like the one at High School Road.
  
  
• This roundabout is not needed. It will solve nothing, be expensive for the City, destroy the rural character of the intersection, become more dangerous to pedestrians and further complicate getting in and out of the Pavilion.
  
  
• The limiting factor of traffic flow on NB Madison is the roundabout at High School Road which in the future will always operate at a level of service of “D”, the minimum. As the brand new traffic study commissioned by the State and published last month said:

“Of note, the northbound queue at Madison Ave N/NE High School Road is significant and may spill back through several upstream intersections. This would occur for all future alternatives.”

• Call your elected council members and let them know what you think. Come hear the facts and voice your opinion at City Hall on Wednesday, October 24th at 7pm.

1. The intersection is too small for a roundabout;
   
   
2. There is no present or future problem that a roundabout will solve there;
   
   
3. A roundabout in close proximity (about 7 feet) to the existing building to the southwest is dangerous;
   
   
4. The rural character of the intersection will be destroyed;
   
   
5. There are other ways to deal with traffic there;
   
   
6. The proposed roundabout will cause the center of the intersection to shift to the west, requiring the taking of large amounts of property out of the adjoining properties when it should be taken out of the only corner which is undeveloped;
   
   
7. To the extent a roundabout is to be used, I believe an EIS must be required for the roundabout as it essentially destroys an historical property, the Wyatt House;
   
   
8. Elderly people use the intersection and the speed of cars going around the roundabout presents a dangerous condition and it will be just a matter of time before death or serious injury occurs.
   
   
9. The true limiting factor in the Madison corridor is the existing roundabout at High School Rd.
